Wee! Doesn’t that sound like fun? It does sound enticing not to have a care in the world. Unfortunately Pluto is in opposition to the two luminaries so don’t be surprised if someone or something gets in your way to spoil your fun. What happens when the temperature warms and the ice begins to melt and like the child you’re not even paying attention. Then before you know it, you’re sinking. There’s nothing wrong with taking a risk, just don’t be foolhardy. Gemini loves to talk but is not necessarily that great in the listening department. So if a risky venture just happens to jump out in front of you, just hear your mom’s voice in your ear: “Have a good time. Don’t kill yourself. Wear your helmet, knee pads and elbow pads.” I could go on with the lecture but I’ll spare you-I had a mom too!

MERCURY STATIONARY RETROGRADE – FRI. 6/15/07 - 7:40 PM EDT – 4:40 PM PDT

As usual when the planet of communication turns Retrograde, one can expect misunderstandings to occur, delays in flight plans and computer malfunctions. If you start something new during this cycle (it turns Direct July 9^th) chances are it won’t go exactly as planned. Avoid signing important documents if you can. It is a good time however to redo, rework or re anything.

It is officially the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. Cancer is the sign of the family. This is a time when many families go on vacation or have family reunions. Although a word of caution is warranted should you decide to go on a family outing. Cancer is ruled by the fluctuating sensitive Moon. Moods go up and moods go down. Say a wrong word to Aunt Millie, and then let the games begin. Perhaps you’ll be traveling by car. Nowhere to hide.

URANUS STATIONARY RETROGRADE – SAT. 6/23/07 – 10:43 AM EDT 7:43 AM PDT

The planet of unexpected change slows down. The change is more likely within yourself rather than outsider of yourself. Uranus likes to break away from old patterns. This could be a good time to go within and ask yourself what it is you would like to free yourself from.

MARS ENTERS TAURUS – SUN. 6/24/07 – 5:26 PM EDT 2:26 PM PDT

Mars is in its detriment in Taurus. Mars wants action and wants results quicker rather than later. Taurus tends to slow the action down. It’s great though if you are working toward acquiring monetary gains – investments. There is great determination and perseverance with this energy that will help meet your goals. Have a little patience.

This is the final (as I breath a sigh of relief) of the three passes of this aspect. It started on 8/31/06. The second occurred 2/28/07. This may have been a difficult cycle for a lot of people. It’s reality vs. illusion. Saturn is our sense of structure and responsibility in our lives. Neptune on the other hand dissolves the structure. It can leave one feeling very confused, uncertain and doubting yourself. It is also your vision and your dreams. Hopefully you have been lucky and Saturn gave form to a dream and now you can give thanks to your accomplishments. You may have even felt out of balance and now may begin to feel a sense of being back on track.

That is such a majestic image. This is the perfect Full Moon to do a meditation. Ask your Angels for guidance. If you’ve been stressed this is a time to relax and take care of yourself. Take a calming walk in nature and feel the peacefulness all around you. Have a little faith and know that your prayers are being answered.

Right after the Full Moon begins Venus opposes Neptune. In relationships you can’t always trust your feelings under this aspect. Be careful if you’re single and you pick somebody up in a bar. When you awake the next morning, Venus conjuncts Saturn. The Prince/Princess from the night before may really be a frog. You may be better off sticking with the Angels for the evening.

Ah! What a romantic vision. Neptune is forming a square to this New Moon though. Neptune adds to the fantasy but the question is, is there any reality to be found in the fantasy? Is the Spaniard sincere and passionate in wanting to woo the Senorita or is he just pretending to put on a show to get what he wants? Of course it could be just me being cynical. It doesn’t hurt to be a tad cautious dealing with others. The old adage if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is would be a good thing to remember this cycle particularly if you have financial deals in the works.

The ideal aspect of Neptune’s influence is tuning in to your spiritual nature. Allow your intuition to guide you. If you still remain confused, wait till you’re sure before you make any major decisions.

There in lies the beauty. If one-way doesn’t work, you don’t have to stay stuck in a situation that doesn’t serve you. You always have a choice to create another path. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac. It represents a letting go of the past. The very spiritual nature of Pisces is telling you to meditate, retreat within oneself and pay very close attention to your inner voice. Pluto the Lord of the Underworld is squaring this eclipse. This is about transformation. Ah, but alas it will not occur if you are waiting for the Prince or Princess to whisk you off your feet. If you are in a negative situation, it’s time to stand on your own two feet and consciously make the choice to do something about it no matter where the road may lead you. The New Moon sextiles the transformative planet Pluto. Look for opportunities that allow you to let go of the past and offer a new path to follow.

This is the second of three times we have this aspect – 8/31/06 and 6/25/07 are the other two. It’s reality check time. Illusion vs. reality. You may find that you are doubting yourself and feeling like you are out of balance. Your sense of structure may feel like it’s out of kilter. Think back to the end of Aug. up to this period of time. Are you living your dream or have you stopped yourself out of fear. Congratulations to those of you who have structured your vision with practical planning and are now starting to see the manifestation of that dream.

A Lunar Eclipse can intensify emotions. Whenever matters of the family arise, emotions run deep. We all want that sense of belonging. On a cellular level we have inherited traits from a long list of ancestors. This is a great time to reconnect with your family. There is always the extended family to reconnect with. Perhaps you are estranged from family. The Moon opposes Uranus, which could make you feel rebellious, and to say the hell with it and stay angry or you could decide forgiveness is a better route to take.

Uranus is conjunct the Sun and Jupiter is aggravating this with a square to it and a square to the Moon as well. This could amplify and exaggerate the already intense emotions of the eclipse. The Jupiter square Uranus has a lot to do with the fight for the rights of freedom. This is not good for the political or religious scene. Leaders – especially the fanatics – could get agitated and make very poor decisions.

Added to the New Moon is Venus conj Neptune. Pay attention to your intuition. This is definitely not left brain energy. Things may not appear logical. You may be shown signs that give you the solution, to your problems, so be open to new possibilities. Allow the inspiration to flow and go with it. This can be very romantic energy, but it can lead to a fantasy. See the person for who they really are. Don’t make them into who you want them to be – Knights in shining armor vanish quickly.

This is the first of three squares. – 5/10 and 10/9. This energy has a lot to do with the fight for the rights of freedom. We are sending in additional troops to Iraq. Expect outbursts from religious fanatics. If you have investments in the Stock Market, pay attention, there could be volatility. You could experience a sense of restlessness. The need to change may be strong, but “what to do, what to do.” You won’t like any kind of restrictions. With Jupiter in Sagittarius, these feelings could be exaggerated. Try to remain calm. This should be an interesting Mercury Retrograde as it is in Pisces. Communication may end up really twisted and jumbled up and be understood as something completely different than what comes out of your mouth. The mind wants to dream in Pisces. As standard practice, it isn’t wise during any Mercury Retrograde to sign contracts. In this case it’s a double whammy. Don’t be duped by anybody painting a pretty picture – it could turn into the swampland in Florida. Hold off till Mercury turns Direct 3/7.

Take stock and make a list of all the chores that need to be done around the house. How many “FIX ME” projects have been put on the back burner? It’s much easier to dream of faraway places or to be lazy and sit in front of the boob tube. Stop procrastinating and get moving.

This New Moon is also conjunct Pluto. You may find yourself reflecting on the past. Unconscious memories may rise to the surface, some not as fond as others. Let go of any anger or hurt that isn’t serving you any purpose any longer and move on. A significant factor of this New Moon is that the Jupiter conjunct Pluto 12/11/07 is at the same degree-28 Sagittarius. We’re beginning that vibration now as Jupiter and Pluto travel in Sagittarius throughout the next year. Jupiter Pluto together can mean “massive power,” and with that can come an abuse of power. The positive outcome though would be for some kind of social reform. Jupiter in Sagittarius take the high road, act in the right, moral and spiritual manner. I think the United States military will still have it’s presence in Iraq next year, but hopefully when the Jupiter conjunct Pluto aspect occurs at the end of the year, many issues will be resolved.

We begin the first day of winter, the longest night of the year, with the highly charged Mars Uranus aspect. In mundane Astrology, this is an indicator of earthquakes or other forceful works of nature. On a personal level, you could just be feeling restless. Be careful driving. Pay attention to the road. Resist the urge to change your mind on impulse and decide you’d rather go to Target on the left instead of Home Depot on the right. Watch out for crazy last minute Christmas shoppers.

The Sun enters the practical earth sign Capricorn. Write out your goals for the year ahead. The symbol for Capricorn is the goat climbing up the mountain slowly and steadily. If you do the work, you are assured success.

Somehow this symbol speaks to me of what is going on in Washington D.C. Many truths of certain politicians have been coming to light. Some are falling off the very high pedestals they built for themselves. In the New Moon chart set for Washington D.C., Neptune the planet of subterfuge and deception falls in it’s ruling house the 12^th of hidden enemies and secrets. Mercury ruler of communication also falls in this house. What is still not being said? Ah but Uranus also finds itself there which could mean a sudden revelation of secrets. Uranus in Pisces and Neptune in Aquarius are in mutual reception (the planets are in each others ruling sign), which gives added strength to the likelihood of something like this to occur. Jupiter square Neptune and Jupiter opposition Mars are other additional indicators that suggests one can only hide their stuff in the closet until one day someone curious comes along, opens it and everything falls out.

It’s also interesting to note that Aquarius that has freedom at the top of the list of priorities is facing its’ demise with the domestic spying issues. SKY WATCH

If you haven’t gone out to look up in the sky to see Mars, do yourself a favor and do so. On Oct. 30, 2005 it was the closest to the earth. It won’t be this close until 2018. You still have time. It’s rising in the east and will be overhead around midnight. If you don’t know your directions just go out and keep turning. You can’t miss it. It is very bright and you can see it’s reddish hue. I was very fortunate to be flying home on the 30^th from an Astrology conference in Toronto and was able to see Mars out the window all the way home. That was a neat experience. I have been telling a lot of people to go out with me to look. I feel like the Martian emissary. You still have time to enjoy the beauty.

Mercury went Retrograde 7/22. As of this writing 7/29, it’s 2 weeks and 3 days to go! Mercury’s energy resumes course and communication should improve. There’s nothing wrong with tending to ones pleasurable appetites, just remember there are varying degrees of consequences to endure for going overboard. You still have a lot of summer left to fit into your bathing suit. Eating or drinking too much can also take away your motivation to get any work done. Or when you go on a shopping spree, it is so much fun at the time, but when the credit card bill comes, somehow fun is not the word that comes to mind.

I heard on Oprah a long time ago on simplifying you life, that if you haven’t used it in – I forget the length of time – but say 5 years, it’s time to toss it. I do know it’s not a fun thing to do but I also know what a good feeling it is when you see the fruits of your labor.

Let’s not forget that it’s Mother’s Day. Do something nice for her to show your appreciation. There’s also a Mercury Trine Pluto aspect today. This influence can have an obsessive thinking tone to it. So if you have issues with Mom, be careful not to ruin her day and say something that you may regret later. A new Moon occurs approximately every 29.6 days. It occurs when the Sun and Moon are conjunct-the same sign and degree of the zodiac. New Moon’s are excellent times to start something new. This particular one is in Aries the first sign of the Zodiac, which represents new beginnings, and taking action, It is also a Solar Eclipse where the Sun, Moon and Earth are in alignment. The Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth blocking the light. It always occurs during a new Moon but an eclipse doesn’t occur every new Moon. The Lunar eclipse has the earth between the Sun and Moon also blocking the light. The energy of an eclipse intensifies or highlights particular areas of your life depending on where it falls in your chart.

This new Moon has a lot to do with the relationship of self vs. the relationship with others. Whose needs will come first, yours or mine? Try not to compete with your partner. Who will be the winner will cause more problems. This eclipse carries an energy that may evoke sexual tension, obsessive love, and passion. So if there is any tension or conflict it’s better to resolve it now rather than wait until Apr. 24 when there will be a Lunar eclipse when emotions may run at high intensity.

It would be a good time to do something nice for someone in need. Do a random act of kindness for a friend or a stranger. In doing a good deed you will nurture yourself and be rewarded.

Interestingly, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles are getting married on this day. I think this relationship describes the energy of the eclipse. I heard someone say how obsessed he is about this marriage taking place. He’s determined to get his way no matter what anyone else thinks from the Royal family to his British subjects. The eclipse is on his MC (Midheaven)-his status in life, profession, and reputation. It opposes his Venus-the relationship. I’d say that the eclipse highlights those areas of his life, wouldn’t you?

Even more intense it’s the Pope’s Funeral on this day. It will be interesting to see if major changes are made in the Catholic Church with a new leader. I think with the Aries energy that there could be new policy changes.

My friend Toby-the blogvangeslist who got me started blogging, had a blog networking get together last night here in Atlanta. She put together a conference in Seattle & one this weekend in Chicago. She's seriously into this phenomena. Anyway it was very interesting for me as I'm not particularly geek savy. I get by but that's what I have a geek husband for. There were techy people there that could answer alot of my questions which I'm very grateful for. Toby's going to help me in a few weeks to set up a blog on typepad. The New Moon occurred at 20Capricorn21 at 7:03 AM EST Mon. 1/10/05. A new moon occurrs when the Sun & the Moon are at the same degree and sign usually once a month. New Moons are the best time to start new projects. Capricorn has alot to do with your career and status in the community. So if you've been putting off something work related or looking for another job, now would be a good time to start. The ruling planet Saturn says that if you do the work you will be rewarded.

Nice Venus Trine Sun Xmas

It's been awhile since my last post. The holidays kept me hopping. Now I have to get back to business & work on finishing my website.
So how did your Xmas holidays go? I had Transiting Venus trine my Sun. It's great energy for socializing. I was up at 8:45 am & barely sat down till 10:30 pm. My kids would have loved it if I would have been up earlier. I had 10 people at the dinner table. It's alot of work but I had fun entertaining. Besides I have to have Xmas dinner for my 3 Jewish friends. This year I do have a story to tell. I had the sweet potatoes & stuffing in the oven in Anchor Hocking glass bake pans. All of a sudden the sweet potatoes dish exploded & there were flames shooting in the oven. Luckily my husband mananged to put the fire out quickly. We couldn't eat either dish. There were pieces of glass in the stuffing & the sweet potatoe pan was shattered. I usually stuff the turkey but this year I just had a turkey breast & couldn't stuff the bird. Oh well we still had way too much food. It was more sad because of all the work. We cleaned most of it the next day. The bottom of the oven still needs some more cleaning so I don't know if the oven works or not yet. I do not have an Astrological reason for this occurence.

I've been very busy with the holidays-shopping & getting ready for Christmas dinner. I also have out of town relatives visiting. I really hope to get things moving after the first of the year. Mercury Retrograde story-last Thurs. I was asked to pick up the speaker for the Astrology Society meeting up at the hotel. I got directions from Kathy the VP & I knew I should have called the hotel before I left but I didn't. I got off on the wrong Paces Ferry exit-wrong freeway-stuck in traffic but I mananged to get us there 5 minutes to spare. I heard another one. The same day my friend Toby was going to Seattle for a conference and wasn't paying attention to the time. There was an accident on the freeway. She took the back way and parked in the more expensive lot and managed to get there with minutes to spare but her luggage didn't there.

Mars Return

I have something good for me going on in my chart today. I have a Mars Return at 16 Scorpio 48. A Return is when the Transiting planet-in the current sky-comes back to the same position in your natal chart. Mars has to with how you direct your energy and what you desire in life. It takes Mars approx. 2.2 years to go around the zodiac. So I get to start a new 2 year cycle. It's a good time to redefine what I want to do, make new goals or start a new project. For me I think it's continuing this Blog which I just started last week. to add to the website & to continue doing consultations & aquire more clients. I hope to expand on what I'm already doing. Sounds exciting to me. I'm up to learning new things. I'm supposed to be starting a priestess class in Feb. 2005.
Mars in Scorpio is very powerful healing energy. Alot of Astrologers & healers have strong Scorpio energy in their charts. I usually have very good ability to recouperate quickly but I've been dealing with alot of lower back pain for about 5 months which is way too long. So hopefully after the series of shots that I've had I'll get over it. Actually It finally feels like it's really getting better. I still can't sit or stand for too long bu I feel like there's been some progress.

I just checked my email. My web designer Bonnie that I mentioned in my first post sent me an email stating that she sent me something which I must have deleted or missed during the Holidays that she put more up on my website. What triggers Retrogrades?

In re: to Kathy's ? about what triggers a retrograde? Well I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that. But what comes to mind is that I think you might mean why some effect you as opposed to others? Let's just stick with Mercury for now. I think alot of Astrologers put too much fear into it & make too much of it. I'm not saying you shouldn't pay attention but sometimes due to circumstances you just can't put your life on hold & you have to proceed with business, but if you can wait till the cycle is over it has a better chance of working out. That's why electional charts are so hard to do. It's really hard to find that perfect chart. No matter how hard you try you can't take a planet from one part of the sky to another. Electional Astrology is where you try to plan an event to start at the right time. I think the degree the planet is going Retrograde has alot to do whether it hits your chart has alot to do with whether your going to feel it more than somenone else or if it's a strong planet or not. So for mercury, Gemini's & Virgo's might be more sensitive. I'm not really sure that touches on your question-let me know.

Mercury Retrograde

Well the first Mercury Retrograde story came in & it just started today. My friend Kathys' computer is down, she dropped one of her phones and cracked it & it doesn't work & her furnace is acting up. She has an Astrology class tonight & is afraid to leave in case it has something to do with the pilot light. I usually don't have too much trouble with Mercury Retrograde as I have it in my chart natally-I live with it all the time. One of the ways it seems to effect me is that I seem to remember what I should have said after the fact. That really bugs me.

I was encouraged to start a blog by my friend Toby who is in marketing & my web designer Bonnie. I have been talking about getting a website up forever. So I decided in July to reconnect with someone I talked to a long time ago at an Astrology conference. Unfortunately my dear friend got hit hard by 2 Hurricanes in Florida. So hopefully it will be up & running soon. She recommended the blog to link to my website for Astrological questions-discussions-sky watch info-current energy patterns & various other tidbits and calling it Paula Ponders. This isn't meant for questions that turn into readings about whether your boyfriend is coming back. That's what a consultation is for.
Anyway I decided I better get something up before Mercury goes Retrograde at 26 Sagitterius 44 at 7:17 am EST-Tues. Nov. 30, 2004. It goes Direct at 12 Sag. 27. Dec. 20 at 1:28 am EST. I know alot of people out there have at least heard of that term. The planet appears to be going backwards because it's orbit is slowing down so the energy doesn't flow as easily when it is in Direct motion. Mercury has to do with communication, transportation, computers. So often during this cycle snafus occur in these areas. There are often misunderstandings which is why it is not advisable to sign contracts if you don't have to or start something. It is a good time however to re everything ie: redo, rethink your plan, reorganize, reconnect-this is a great time if you're in sales to recall old clients.
Well hopefully this will be a good format for meeting clients & friends who enjoy my enthusiasm in Astrology.
